Our Aquaculture Division has formalized an agreement for the exclusive distribution of BBZIX’ biodegradable biocides within our field of activity. This dynamic company based in Huesca (NE Spain) and with a strong international projection, has over 15 years of experience in product development and innovative technologies in the field of animal hygiene. We contribute to this agreement with our specialized approach to the development and optimization of specific applications for BBZIX products in the production of aquatic species, for both fresh water and marine environments.
BBZIX’ product portfolio consists of a full range of fully biodegradable, environmentally friendly biocides, easy to use and extremely effective against a broad pathogen spectrum, allowing for the development of effective protocols in the prophylaxis, hygiene and disinfection of fish, molluscs and crustaceans in conditions of biosafety. This new line of products, which do not generate toxic or hazardous residues, has been thoroughly tested and registered within health and agrifood European authorities, and produced under ISO: 9001 and ISO: 14001 certification protocols.
Our interest in this collaboration derives from the absence of suitable alternatives for many products routinely used in aquaculture (formalin, chloramines, benzalkonium chloride, quaternary ammonium compounds, chlorinated substances etc.) which in many cases have limited effectiveness or result in the generation of dangerous and/or harmful metabolites in the water. The development of specific applications for the use of BBZIX products in aquaculture allows us to offer new solutions for effective and safe water sanitation, the cleaning and disinfection of facilities, containment systems, footbaths and handling tools. Moreover, their biocidal activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial and fungal spores, and their broad fungicidal and virucidal spectrum allow us to recommend effective protocols for the treatment of wounds in skin and teguments, the control of protozoa, the application of therapeutic baths or the disinfection of eggs in conditions of biosafety.
